Genu varum

Diagnosis

  • Bilateral symmetrical genu vara of 20 deg
  • without generalised liagamnet laxity
  • of 6 months duration
  • with probable etiology being rickets
  • with active signs of rickets
  • in a 5 year old schoolgoing girl
  • presently concerned with cosmeis & awkard gait

  • symmetrical/asemmetrical genu vara  with
  • lateral thigh leg angle of-20 deg
  • intercondylar distance -

  • Knee-range
  • ligamentous laxity
  • fibula level
  • Tibial torsion
  • Signs of rickets
  • stature
  • Limb mength discrepancy
  • Gait +lateral thrust + foot progression angle
  • other joints
