Congenital Talipes Equinovarus

    Diagnosis

  1. Left sided
  2. Neglected/ recurrent/ resistant
  3. Idiopathic/ non-idiopathic
  4. Partially correctible
  5. Congenital talipes equinovarus deformity
  6. With out associated anomalies
  7. In a 3 year old first born male walking child
  8. Currently brought due to parental concern of deformity
  9. History

  10. Present since birth
  11. Traetment taken- castings ( number, done by, frequency, when stopped, correction achieved, what braces used, how long), surgery ( when, postoperative immobilization, braces, correction achieved)
  12. Family history
  13. Associated anomalies
  14. Examination

  15. Left foot is smaller
  16. With concave medial border facing up with a deep crease
  17. With convex lateral border facing down
  18. With callosity over dorsal aspect of fifth metatarsal
  19. With deep crease on posterior aspect
  20. With absence of fine crease over tendo achilles
  21. With posterior tuberosity of calcaneum difficult to palpate
  22. There is a bony prominence over dorso-lateral aspect of foot
  23. 1 cm calf atrophy
  24. There is compensatory genu valgum & in-torsion of tibia
  25. Normal hip & spine & neurological examination
  26. Other joints normal
